A cast of pantomime favourites entertain at Darlington Court

Dick Whittington, Cinderella, Snow White and lots of other pantomime favourites will be entertaining residents and members of the public at Care UK’s Darlington Court this Christmas.
Helen Bull, the home’s active living co-ordinator, wrote the comedy that will be performed by staff at the home in The Leas, Rustington. She said: “It is a great family romp with everybody’s’ favourite characters involved.
“All of the characters think they have won a free holiday and there’s a lot of confusion and a funny twist at the end, as well as lots of audience participation and singing.”
“The staff have given up a great deal of their own time and they have been rehearsing since October. Everyone here is very committed to ensuring our residents have a great time at Christmas.”
The first performance, for residents, will take place on Tuesday 20th December and the next day, at 3pm, there will be a public performance with a raffle. Tickets are £5 for adults, including a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie, and £3 for children.
The 61-bed Darlington Court, which holds a coveted ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission, cares for frail older people and has a separate unit for older people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
Limited tickets can be purchased in advance from the home’s reception or by calling (01903) 850232.
